Overview
WoW Forever adds nine new dungeons to the full Classic roster, and every returning dungeon stays in the game. Five of the new ones have level ranges so far, from the Hall of Thanes at 13 to The Drowned City at 35–40. The other four are announced, with no level range, boss list or opening date yet.
At level 60, Forever's endgame opens with two raids: the new 20-player Hyjal Summit and the new 10-player Barrow Deeps. Neither is open on launch day. Both unlock on December 9, 2026, five weeks after the game launches on November 4. More raids follow later, including a revamped iconic raid.
This guide lists every instance in level order, gives you a dungeon path from 13 to 60, and covers the Legacy Points dungeons and raids are worth. Most dungeons and both launch raids have a page in our dungeon guides and raid guides. The Drowned City and the four announced dungeons do not have one yet.
- Nine new dungeons, from the Hall of Thanes at 13 to four announced ones that have no level range yet.
- Two raids from December 9: a 10-player and a 20-player, with more to follow later.
- Specific dungeon bosses drop camping Blueprints, the recipes for advanced camp objects.
- Dungeon and raid bosses are worth six Legacy Points in total.
New dungeons
All nine. The first five have level ranges; the last four are announced and don't have ranges yet.
The Hall of Thanes (13–18)
The Hall of Thanes sits beneath Ironforge in Dun Morogh. At 13 it shares the lowest level in the game with Ragefire Chasm, and it's the natural first dungeon for Dwarves and Gnomes. Run it as soon as your group has a tank and a healer.
Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20)
Ruins of Lordaeron is the fallen human capital in Tirisfal Glades, the city above the Undercity. It gives the Horde a second early dungeon next to Ragefire Chasm, and at 15–20 it sits alongside the Deadmines and Wailing Caverns (both from 17), so every group has a choice in this band.
Excavation Site: Wetlands (24–29)
Excavation Site: Wetlands is a dig site at Whelgar's Excavation in the Wetlands. It isn't open in the beta yet.
City of Dalaran (28–33)
City of Dalaran turns Dalaran, the city of the Kirin Tor in the Alterac Mountains, into a dungeon. From 28 it fills the space between Excavation Site: Wetlands and Gnomeregan, and gives both factions a new option there. It isn't open in the beta yet.
The Drowned City (35–40)
A dungeon on the coast of Stranglethorn Vale. It is the dungeon for anyone questing in Stranglethorn at 35–40, and it isn't open in the beta yet.
Krol'dok Stronghold (announced)
A stronghold in the Riverglades, Forever's new mid-level zone for levels 36–44. It has no level range or opening date yet.
Alcaz Prison (announced)
A prison on Alcaz Island, off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh. It has no level range or opening date yet.
Blackmaw Hold (announced)
A stronghold in northern Azshara. It has no level range or opening date yet.
Shaper's Terrace (announced)
Found in Un'Goro Crater. It has no level range or opening date yet.
Classic dungeons
Every Classic dungeon returns. Each has a level range in Forever: start it at the low end, and the levels after that are its sweet spot. Several moved from where you remember them, so check the list before you form a group.
- Ragefire Chasm (13–18): in Orgrimmar.
- The Deadmines (17–26): in Westfall.
- Wailing Caverns (17–24): in the Barrens.
- Shadowfang Keep (22–30): in Silverpine Forest.
- Blackfathom Deeps (24–32): in Ashenvale.
- The Stockade (24–32): in Stormwind City.
- Razorfen Kraul (29–38): in the Barrens.
- Gnomeregan (29–38): in Dun Morogh.
- Scarlet Monastery (30–46): in Tirisfal Glades. Start with the lowest wing and work up.
- Razorfen Downs (37–46): in the Barrens.
- Uldaman (41–51): in the Badlands.
- Zul'Farrak (44–54): in Tanaris.
- Maraudon (46–55): in Desolace.
- Sunken Temple (50–60): in the Swamp of Sorrows.
- Blackrock Depths (52–60): in Blackrock Mountain.
- Dire Maul (54–60): in Feralas.
- Lower Blackrock Spire (55–60): a 10-player dungeon in Blackrock Mountain.
- Scholomance (58–60): in the Western Plaguelands.
- Stratholme (58–60): in the Eastern Plaguelands.
- Upper Blackrock Spire (59–60): a 10-player dungeon in Blackrock Mountain.
Forever's ranges are wide, and several start later than you remember. Razorfen Kraul and Gnomeregan both run 29–38, Razorfen Downs runs 37–46 and Sunken Temple runs 50–60. Blackrock Spire is split into two 10-player dungeons, Lower and Upper. Plan your runs off Forever's levels, not the ones you remember.
Raids
Both raids unlock on December 9, 2026. Until then, level 60 is about dungeons, professions, reputations and PvP.
Hyjal Summit (20 players)
Hyjal Summit is a new 20-player raid in Mount Hyjal, Forever's new endgame zone. It is set after Archimonde's defeat, when the Night Elves have lost their immortality. It holds 13 bosses, and it drops new tier set pieces. Clearing every boss is worth a Legacy Point.
Barrow Deeps (10 players)
Barrow Deeps is a new 10-player raid for level 60 characters. It is a huge underground network connecting the Night Elf barrow dens, full of dangerous prisoners, including a demon hunter who was locked away there, and a corruption spreading through its halls. It has 8 bosses and drops new tier set pieces of its own. A full clear is worth a Legacy Point.
You have five weeks between launch and the raids. Spend them in Blackrock Depths, Lower Blackrock Spire and Upper Blackrock Spire, Scholomance and Stratholme. Every dungeon upgrade you collect in those weeks is one you don't need from the raids.
Which dungeon at which level
A dungeon path from 13 to 60, built from the level ranges above. Start each dungeon at the low end of its range: you get the full value of its quests and loot, and the group isn't fighting monsters above its level. The announced dungeons are left out until they have a range. Excavation Site: Wetlands, City of Dalaran and The Drowned City are not open in the beta yet, so they are marked below and are not runnable today.
Levels 13–20
- 13–18: The Hall of Thanes for the Alliance, Ragefire Chasm for the Horde.
- 15–20: Ruins of Lordaeron, the new early pick for the Horde.
- 17–26: The Deadmines for the Alliance, Wailing Caverns (17–24) for the Horde.
Levels 20–30
- 22–30: Shadowfang Keep.
- 24–32: Blackfathom Deeps or The Stockade.
- 24–29: Excavation Site: Wetlands, the new pick for this band once it opens (not open in the beta yet).
- 28–33: City of Dalaran (not open in the beta yet).
Levels 30–40
- 29–38: Razorfen Kraul or Gnomeregan.
- 30–46: the Scarlet Monastery wings.
- 35–40: The Drowned City (not open in the beta yet). Once it opens, pair it with your Stranglethorn Vale questing.
Levels 40–50
- 37–46: Razorfen Downs.
- 41–51: Uldaman.
- 44–54: Zul'Farrak, then Maraudon (46–55).
Levels 50–60
- 50–60: Sunken Temple.
- 52–60: Blackrock Depths.
- 54–60: Dire Maul.
- 55–60: Lower Blackrock Spire (10-player).
- 58–60: Scholomance and Stratholme.
- 59–60: Upper Blackrock Spire (10-player).
The Classic dungeons have quests that start in the zone around them or in your capital. Pick them up before you go in, so one run pays out its boss drops, its quest rewards and its quest experience together.
Legacy Points from dungeons and raids
Instances are worth six Legacy Points: three from dungeons and three from raids.
Dungeons: 3 points
One point each for defeating dungeon bosses in three level brackets: 15–25, 26–45 and 46–60. Follow the path above and you earn all three on the way to 60 without a single extra run.
Raids: 3 points
- Defeat Onyxia. She isn't among the announced raids yet.
- Defeat all 13 bosses of Hyjal Summit.
- Defeat all 8 bosses of Barrow Deeps.
Legacy Points are account-wide, so you earn each raid point once, on any character. See the Legacy system guide for how to spend them.
Tips
Build a real group. A five-player dungeon wants one tank, one healer and three damage dealers. Forever widens the options: Paladins now tank with Seal of Fury, their first taunt, and baseline Consecration. Protection Warriors with Vanguard Charge in without leaving Defensive Stance.
Bring crowd control. A Mage's Polymorph, a Rogue's Sap or a Hunter's Freezing Trap turns a dangerous four-mob pull into an easy three. On pulls with casters, mark the kill order before the tank pulls.
Farm camping Blueprints. Advanced camp objects come from Blueprint recipes that drop from specific dungeon bosses. When your group gets one, the player whose profession uses it takes it: a Blueprint for someone else's camp object is worth nothing to you.
Camp at the entrance. Anyone can place a Basic Campfire. Drop one outside the instance and let your group add its camp objects: vendors, repairs, crafting stations and buffs without a trip back to town.
Run the new dungeons first, once they open. They're new bosses and new loot tables built for Forever, but several are announced without a level range or opening date. When a new dungeon and a Classic dungeon share a band and both are open, start with the new one.
Dress for the level-60 jump. Scholomance, Stratholme and Upper Blackrock Spire are the step between leveling dungeons and the raids. Treat them as your raid preparation, not as leveling content.
