Overview
The Ruins of Lordaeron are what's left of Lordaeron's capital, standing over the Undercity in Tirisfal Glades. Inside, you hunt abominable creatures, take a highly toxic plague strain from Witherfang, and gather the relics of the fallen kingdom: bloodied insignias, the Crest of Lordaeron and a blood-stained letter.
It's a dungeon for your mid-teens: after Ragefire Chasm and the Hall of Thanes, before The Deadmines and Wailing Caverns. Both factions have quests here, and for the Horde the whole run starts at the Undercity's door.
Getting there
The Ruins of Lordaeron stand in Tirisfal Glades, over the Undercity. Tirisfal Glades is Horde territory.
- Horde: the ruins are the Undercity's front door, and Brill is close by. Every one of your quests turns in at the Undercity or in Brill.
- Alliance: it's a long trip deep into Horde land, so travel as a group. Three of your four quests turn in back in Stormwind City.
Quests
Both factions have quests here. Pick up the NPC quests before you zone in, and loot everything inside: the Crest of Lordaeron starts a quest for both factions, a Bloodied Insignia starts one for the Alliance, and the Abominable Head starts one for the Horde.
Alliance
- Abominable Creatures: collect the Head of the Baron and bring it back to Captain Truman.
- Bloodied Insignia: collect 10 Bloodied Insignias for General Marcus Jonathan in Stormwind City.
- Crest of Lordaeron: return the Crest of Lordaeron to Lady Dena Kennedy in Stormwind City.
- Remember That I Love You: bring the Blood-Stained Letter to Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind City.
Horde
- The Wrath of Rath'mael: kill Rath'mael for Deathguard Kristof in Brill.
- The New Plague: collect the Highly Toxic Strain from Witherfang for Theodore Griffs in the Undercity.
- Light's Justice: collect 25 Intact Limbs for Morbin Lightbane in the Undercity.
- Crest of Lordaeron: bring the Crest of Lordaeron to Oran Snakewrithe in the Undercity.
- Unending Torment runs four quests long: take the Abominable Head to the Undercity, bring the Head of the Baron to the body of Othmar, collect a Toxic Skullcap, Blisterweed and Essence of Agony for Master Apothecary Faranell, and inject the Hissing Serum above Othmar's body.

Loot
Every boss has three blue items on its loot table. The Lordaeron Captain, now listed as a rare rather than a boss, drops two items of his own. The standouts:
- Casters: Scepter of the Abandoned from The Abandoned, a main-hand mace with spell damage and healing, and Coldspire Staff from Rath'mael, a staff with the same. Rotmender's Leggings from The Abandoned and Rotmender's Treads from Rath'mael are two pieces of the five-piece Rotmender's Raiment cloth set.
- Two-handed melee: Corpse Chopper from Bjork, with Strength, and Segmented Spider Leg from Witherfang, a staff with Agility and Strength.
- One-handed melee: Vileblood Scimitar from Viktor the Vile and Meathook Slicer from The Baron.
- Leather: Bloodied Chestwraps from Viktor the Vile, with Agility.
- Mail: the deepest armor pool in the dungeon, with a chest, belt, gloves, legs and boots. Start with Abomination Bones from The Baron and Grip of Fear from The Abandoned.
- Shield: Mirror of Rath'mael from Rath'mael.
Rath'mael's drops and the Lordaeron Captain's need more levels than the rest of the table, so they're upgrades you grow into.
