How to get Booty Bay Bruiser's Buckshot in WoW Forever: Honored with Booty Bay, the vendor on the docks, the fastest reputation from quests, Southsea pirates and Venture Co. goblins, and what the gun does now that its knockback is gone.
Written by stillsixty staff.
The Booty Bay gun made a name for itself by knocking players off ledges and docks. That knockback is gone: the gun's Use effect was removed. What's left is a solid level-30 blue for Hunters, and a ranged slot with Attack Power for Warriors and Rogues.
Booty Bay belongs to the Steamwheedle Cartel, the goblin towns of Booty Bay, Ratchet, Gadgetzan and Everlook. Reputation you earn with one of them also gives the other three half as much, so Ratchet's quests in the Barrens already move you toward Booty Bay.
You need Honored, two steps up from where you start. The reputation section below has the fastest sources.
You can buy it before, but you can't equip it until 30.
Gezzy is Booty Bay's quartermaster, on the docks. The boat from Ratchet docks right there, and both factions have a flight path in town. Gezzy also sells the Tough Guy's Eyepatch at Revered.
| Source | What you get |
|---|---|
| Ratchet quests | The Barrens goblin quests, from Southsea Freebooters to WANTED: Baron Longshore. They pay Ratchet reputation, and half of it lands on Booty Bay. Do them on the way up anyway. |
| Booty Bay quests | Stranglethorn from about level 30: Supply and Demand, Some Assembly Required, Excelsior, Singing Blue Shards, Hostile Takeover and more. Every quest a Booty Bay goblin gives you pays Booty Bay reputation directly. |
| Venture Co. goblins | The Venture Co. camps in northern Stranglethorn, levels 34–38: 5 reputation each. |
| Southsea pirates | The Southsea camps on the Merchant Coast of the Barrens: 2.5 each, and 25 for Baron Longshore. Easy kills from your mid-teens on. |
The quests alone won't get you to Honored. Plan on finishing every Booty Bay and Ratchet quest you can, then grinding the last stretch on pirates or goblins. Killing the pirates makes the Bloodsail Buccaneers hate you more, which is how Booty Bay likes it.
The Diplomat Legacy perk adds up to 10% to every reputation gain. Plan it in the Legacy planner if you're going for this gun on an alt.
For a Hunter between 30 and 40, yes: 18 damage per second with Attack Power on it holds up through most of your 30s. Warriors and Rogues get +9 Attack Power and +3 Stamina in a slot they rarely upgrade. Nobody needs it for its old trick any more.
See the Hunter leveling guide for the ranged weapons to aim for after it.
