Guide
The fastest way from 1 to 60 in WoW Forever: where to quest at every level for Alliance and Horde, when to run each dungeon once, how dungeon experience works now, rested experience and the Camp Tent, Legacy perks and the quickest classes.
Written by stillsixty staff.
Questing is the backbone of every fast run to 60 in Forever. Dungeons pay well for one visit with their quests in your log, and much less on repeat. Add rested experience from a camp, a few Legacy perks and a class that kills without stopping to drink, and the road gets a lot shorter.
The tables follow the main questing zone for each band. Overlap is normal: when a zone turns green, move to the next one even if quests are left.
| Levels | Where to quest |
|---|---|
| 1 to 12 | Your race's starting zone: Elwynn Forest (humans), Dun Morogh (dwarves and gnomes), Teldrassil (night elves) or Zephras Isle (Skyborne). |
| 12 to 20 | Westfall from Sentinel Hill, Loch Modan from Thelsamar, or Darkshore from Auberdine. |
| 20 to 30 | Redridge Mountains, then Wetlands, Duskwood and Ashenvale from Astranaar. |
| 30 to 36 | Hillsbrad Foothills from Southshore, Arathi Highlands from Refuge Pointe, Desolace and the north of Stranglethorn Vale. |
| 36 to 44 | The Riverglades, a new zone with more than 150 quests, then Dustwallow Marsh from Theramore, Badlands and the south of Stranglethorn Vale. |
| 44 to 50 | Tanaris from Gadgetzan, Feralas from Feathermoon Stronghold, The Hinterlands from Aerie Peak and Searing Gorge. |
| 50 to 55 | Un'Goro Crater, Felwood, Azshara and Burning Steppes. |
| 55 to 60 | Western Plaguelands, Winterspring, Eastern Plaguelands and Silithus. |
| Levels | Where to quest |
|---|---|
| 1 to 12 | Your race's starting zone: Durotar (orcs and trolls), Mulgore (tauren), Tirisfal Glades (undead) or Zephras Isle (Skyborne). |
| 12 to 20 | The Barrens from the Crossroads, or Silverpine Forest from the Sepulcher. |
| 20 to 30 | Stonetalon Mountains, Hillsbrad Foothills from Tarren Mill, Ashenvale from Splintertree Post and Thousand Needles from Freewind Post. |
| 30 to 36 | Desolace from Shadowprey Village, Arathi Highlands from Hammerfall and the north of Stranglethorn Vale from Grom'gol. |
| 36 to 44 | The Riverglades, then Dustwallow Marsh from Brackenwall Village, Swamp of Sorrows from Stonard, Badlands and the south of Stranglethorn Vale. |
The Skyborne leave Zephras Isle at 12 or 13 on a skycutter: see Leaving Zephras Isle. For the stretch from 20 to 30 in detail, read Levels 20 to 30.
Run each dungeon once, near the bottom of its range, with every quest for it in your log. A second run pays far less: the quests are done and the kills alone don't keep up with questing. The Dungeon quest tour lists every dungeon quest to pick up before you go in, for your faction and level.
| Levels | Dungeons |
|---|---|
| 13 to 20 | Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge or Ragefire Chasm in Orgrimmar (13–18), then the Ruins of Lordaeron above the Undercity (15–20). |
| 17 to 26 | Wailing Caverns (17–24) and the Deadmines (17–26). |
| 22 to 32 | Shadowfang Keep (22–30), the Excavation Site in the Wetlands (24–29), Blackfathom Deeps and the Stockade (24–32). |
| 28 to 38 | City of Dalaran (28–33, after its attunement quests from Southshore or Tarren Mill), Gnomeregan and Razorfen Kraul (29–38). |
| 30 to 46 | Scarlet Monastery (30–46: Graveyard first, then Library, Armory and Cathedral), The Drowned City off the Stranglethorn coast (35–40) and Razorfen Downs (37–46). |
| 40 to 55 | Krol'dok Stronghold in the Riverglades (40–45), Uldaman (41–51), Zul'Farrak (44–54), Maraudon (46–55) and Alcaz Prison on Alcaz Island in Dustwallow Marsh (48–53). |
| 50 to 60 | The Sunken Temple (50–60), Blackrock Depths (52–60), Dire Maul (54–60), Lower Blackrock Spire and Blackmaw Hold in Azshara (55–60). |
| 58 to 60 | Scholomance, Stratholme, Shaper's Terrace in Un'Goro Crater (bring the power crystals you gather in the crater) and Upper Blackrock Spire (59–60). |
Clearing every dungeon on a list also earns Legacy points: six early dungeons for Novice Spelunker, ten mid-level ones for Experienced Spelunker and seventeen high-level ones for Master Spelunker. See Legacy: the fastest 16 points.
Three rules shape dungeon leveling in Forever:
In practice: a group of the right level that clears a dungeon once, with all of its quests, levels about as fast as a player questing alone. Running the same dungeon over and over is slower than questing, and being pulled through by a high-level friend pays nothing. Use dungeons as a stop on the quest route, not as the route.
While you are rested, every kill pays double experience until the bonus runs out. Quests pay the same either way. You build rested experience while logged out in an inn or a capital city, slowly elsewhere, up to a level and a half.
Forever adds a faster way to top it up: the camp. Build a campfire with a Basic Campfire Kit (Cooking 1) and up to three players can add a camp feature each. The first camping quest, around level 5, shows you how.
The feature that matters for leveling is the Camp Tent, a Leatherworking feature at skill 20 made from Light Leather. Sit by it for half a minute and your rested bar fills to 5% of a level. It does nothing if you already have more, so use it once your rested bar is spent. All camp features share a one-hour cooldown, which makes it up to 5% of a level of double experience every hour.
Put the tent in every camp. One leatherworker in the group is enough: everyone sitting by the tent gets the top-up.
Eat before you pull. Most cooked food also raises the experience you get from kills by 5% while you are Well Fed.
Sleep in the bag. The Cozy Sleeping Bag gives 3% more experience for two hours. Its hidden chain starts around level 14.
The camping page lists every camp feature and the class buff each one overlaps with.
Legacy points are account-wide, and each character spends up to 16 of them. For a character that is still leveling, these are the perks that save time:
Well Rested, Talented and Thrill of Adventure at 5/5 use 15 points. Plan yours in the Legacy planner, and see where the points come from in Legacy: the fastest 16 points.
Any class can reach 60, but some get there with less downtime:
Pick the class you want to play at 60. The difference between the fastest and slowest class is smaller than the difference between a good route and a bad one.
Each class guide has the talent order, abilities by level, rotation and gear from 1 to 60.
| Class | Guide |
|---|---|
| Warrior | Warrior leveling |
| Paladin | Paladin leveling |
| Hunter | Hunter leveling |
| Rogue | Rogue leveling |
| Priest | Priest leveling |
| Shaman | Shaman leveling |
| Mage | Mage leveling |
| Warlock | Warlock leveling |
| Druid | Druid leveling |
Try your talent build in the talent calculator before you spend the points.
