Maraudon

Maraudon is the centaurs' holy ground in Desolace: the tomb of Zaetar, son of Cenarius, and the lair of Princess Theradras, the earth elemental who loved him. It's one of the longest dungeons in the game, a maze of caverns full of elementals, satyrs and corrupted plants that ends with the Princess in Zaetar's Grave, beside Earth Song Falls.

The run's big reward is the Scepter of Celebras, which opens a portal straight to Earth Song Falls. Earn it once, and every later run skips ahead to the dungeon's last stretch.

The entrance is in the Valley of Spears in western Desolace. Horde players fly to Shadowprey Village, southwest of the entrance, and ride a short way northeast. Alliance players fly to Nijel's Point in the far northeast and ride the length of the zone.

Once someone in your group holds the Scepter of Celebras, you skip most of the dungeon: the holder creates a portal, and everyone who takes it lands in Earth Song Falls in inner Maraudon.

Both factions can do every quest here: five are shared, and the other three come in a Horde and an Alliance version. Two of them build the Scepter of Celebras. Stack what you can before you zone in.

• Legends of Maraudon: recover the two parts of the Scepter of Celebras, the Celebrian Rod and the Celebrian Diamond, then find a way to speak with Celebras.
• The Scepter of Celebras: assist Celebras the Redeemed while he creates the Scepter, and speak with him when the ritual is done.
• Corruption of Earth and Seed (Horde) and Corruption of Earth and Seed (Alliance): slay Princess Theradras, then return to Selendra near Shadowprey Village or Keeper Marandis at Nijel's Point.
• Seed of Life: take the Seed of Life to Remulos in Moonglade.
• Vyletongue Corruption (Horde) and Vyletongue Corruption (Alliance): fill the Coated Cerulean Vial at the orange crystal pool, use the Filled Cerulean Vial on the Vylestem Vines to force out the corrupted Noxxious Scions, and heal 8 plants by killing them. Turn in to Vark Battlescar in Shadowprey Village or Talendria in Nijel's Point.
• Twisted Evils: 25 Theradric Crystal Carvings for Willow in Desolace.
• The Pariah's Instructions: read the Pariah's Instructions, then bring the Amulet of Union from Maraudon to the Centaur Pariah in southern Desolace.
• Shadowshard Fragments (Horde) and Shadowshard Fragments (Alliance): 10 Shadowshard Fragments from Maraudon for Uthel'nay in Orgrimmar or Archmage Tervosh in Theramore.

• Maraudon's trash is elementals, plants, satyrs and cave beasts, with few humanoids. Plan your crowd control around that, or pull one pack at a time.
• The Noxxious Scions that Vyletongue Corruption forces out of the Vylestem Vines aren't elite, so you can finish the quest as you pass.
• Maraudon is long. Bring more food, water and repair money than you think you need.

Maraudon's loot suits every role, and the Princess's table is the best of it. The standouts:

• Casters: Inventor's Focal Sword from Tinkerer Gizlock, Eye of Theradras from Princess Theradras and Rotgrip Mantle from Rotgrip.
• Healers: Charstone Dirk from Princess Theradras, a dagger with Intellect and mana regeneration.
• Physical damage: Blackstone Ring from Princess Theradras, a ring with hit and Attack Power, and Bracers of the Stone Princess from her too for mail wearers.
• Leather: Albino Crocscale Boots from Rotgrip, with Agility, and Soothsayer's Headdress from Celebras the Cursed for casters.
• Two-handed melee: Princess Theradras' Scepter from Princess Theradras and Gatorbite Axe from Rotgrip.
• Ranged: Megashot Rifle from Tinkerer Gizlock, a gun with ranged Attack Power.

• Do the Scepter of Celebras chain once. After that, the holder opens a portal to Earth Song Falls on every run.
• Gather the whole group before the holder uses the Scepter, so everyone takes the portal together.
• Corruption of Earth and Seed wants Princess Theradras dead. Seed of Life is a separate delivery to Remulos in Moonglade.
• Against the Princess, melee expect fears and knockbacks, and ranged stand well outside Dust Field.
• AoE Noxxion's Spawns the moment they appear.
