Addons for WoW Forever
Forever is built on the modern game client, which leaves most Classic addons flagged out of date and many of them broken. These are the ones with a Forever version, sorted by what they do, plus how to install them and what to do when one misbehaves.

StillSixtyExport
Our addon for Top Gear: it copies your character, gear, bags and bank as one block of text.
Install it like any other addon, type /stillsixty in game, copy the text and paste it into Top Gear. Open your bank once so its items are included.
Built into the game
Forever brought these over from the modern client. Switch them on before you go looking for an addon.

Install an addon
Step 1: Open the beta’s AddOns folder
The beta has its own folder next to your other WoW versions. In the Battle.net app, pick the Forever beta, open the gear menu and choose Show in Explorer (Show in Finder on a Mac). Then go to:
World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOnsNo
InterfaceorAddOnsfolder yet? Create them, with exactly that spelling.Step 2: Download the Forever version
On the addon's CurseForge page, open Files, filter by the Forever game version and download the newest file. A Classic or retail file with the same name is not the same thing: it will load as out of date at best.
Step 3: Unzip it one level deep
Extract the zip into
AddOns. Each addon is a folder with a.tocfile directly inside it:AddOns\Questie\Questie.toc works AddOns\Questie-main\Questie\... not found
Some downloads hold several folders (a core and its modules). Copy all of them.
Step 4: Turn it on at character select
Start the game, click AddOns in the bottom-left corner of the character screen and tick the addon. If it is marked out of date and has no Forever version, tick Load out of date AddOns at the top.
Step 5: Reload after you change settings
Type
/reloadafter installing or configuring an addon in game. Its settings are saved when you reload or log out normally, not when the game crashes.
When something breaks
The usual suspects, and what to try first.
- 1
The addon is not in the list
It is in the wrong folder. Check that you used the beta's
_classic_beta_folder, not the live game's, and that the addon's.tocfile sits one level insideAddOns, not in a second folder of the same name. - 2
It says “Out of date”
The addon was written for another version of the game. Look for its Forever version first; if there is none, tick “Load out of date AddOns”, and expect errors.
- 3
Red Lua error pop-ups
Install BugSack and BugGrabber so errors stop interrupting you. Then turn addons off one at a time to find the culprit, and send the copied error to its author.
- 4
Green or blank map, empty character sheet
Both are beta bugs on clients that are not in English. The beta fixes above repair them until Blizzard does.
- 5
WeakAuras will not load
It has no Forever version. Split the job between ForeverAuras, EllesmereUI and the built-in Cooldown Manager.
- 6
The game feels slow after installing
Big suites (full interfaces, auction scanners) cost the most. Disable what you do not use on that character from the AddOns button at character select.
Addons are made by their authors, not by us. We list each one with its author and link to its own download page; install only from there.
