Guide
Where to train in WoW Forever and when: class trainers in every capital and starting zone, a new rank every two levels, weapon masters, riding trainers at level 40 and 60, profession ranks and barbers.
Written by stillsixty staff.
Training is a gold sink you can plan for. A class trainer sells you new spells and ranks every two levels, weapon masters sell the weapon skills your class can use, and riding opens at 40. This guide says what to train and when, and where the trainers stand in every capital and starting zone.
Every class learns its first abilities at level 1 and its next ones at level 4. After that there is a new batch at every even level, up to 60. Odd levels teach nothing, so you can skip the trip.
The batches are not equal. The big ones come at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60, when a class learns the most new abilities and ranks at once. Plan a trainer visit on those levels, and on any even level when you are passing a town anyway.
Your talents have no trainer: your first point arrives at level 10, and you reset talents at your class trainer. Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40.
Training gets expensive late: most of the bill falls between 40 and 60, the same stretch where you save for riding. Every class pays about the same in total, between 206 and 207 gold from 1 to 60. Warlocks pay less at the trainer, because they also buy grimoires for their demons. Abilities that unlock at the same level cost the same, apart from the Priest racial spells. Skip ranks you will never use. The downranking guide explains which old ranks are worth keeping, and each class's leveling guide lists what it learns at every level.
New spells do not go onto your action bars by themselves. After each visit, open the spellbook and drag the new ones into place.
Levels 1 to 10 you can train where you started. Each zone has trainers in two spots.

Riding works the way it did in The Burning Crusade: the training teaches you the skill and gives you the mount in one purchase. There are two ranks.
| Rank | Level, cost and what it unlocks |
|---|---|
| Apprentice Riding | Level 40, 90 gold. Basic ground mounts, riding skill 75. |
| Journeyman Riding | Level 60, 900 gold. Swift ground mounts, riding skill 150. |
The same trainer teaches both ranks, and each race has its own mount trainer in its home area.
At level 60 with Journeyman Riding you can also use the 55-point Legacy reward mount and the Merchant's Favor pack mount. The Skyborne Heroic Pack mount needs a riding skill too.
Every profession has its own trainers, and the professions page lists them for each one, with the recipes they teach. The ranks are gated by your level:
| Rank | Skill and level needed |
|---|---|
| Apprentice | Skill up to 75. No level needed. |
| Journeyman | Skill up to 150. Level 10. |
| Expert | Skill up to 225. Level 20. |
| Artisan | Skill up to 300. Level 35. |
Train First Aid and Cooking in your first towns. The basic campfire kit needs Cooking 1 and the Camp Tent needs Leatherworking 20; see camping and the experience guide.
Hunters also have pet trainers, who teach pet skills; see hunter pets.
Darnassus and Thunder Bluff got barbershops on October 1. Every barbershop now has a barber working in it, and city guards will point you to the nearest one. Druids change their form looks there too; see Druid forms for every style. You can also switch your character model quality at a barbershop.
No. Odd levels teach nothing, and you can skip any even level and train two levels of spells on the next visit. Just don't walk into a dungeon at 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 without visiting first: those are the big batches.
Between 206 and 207 gold for every class if you buy everything. Warlocks spend less at the trainer and make up the difference on grimoires.
At your class trainer. Your first talent point comes at level 10, and Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40.
10 silver per weapon at a weapon master. Polearms cost 1 gold and need level 20.
Yes: Apprentice Riding is 90 gold at level 40, from the riding trainer of your race. Journeyman Riding is 900 gold at level 60.
