Transmog, mounts and toys

Forever has transmog from day one: every item you loot, wear or earn adds its look to a collection all your characters share, and three transmogrifiers change your outfit for a few coins. Below: where they stand, the rules, the 19 cosmetic looks and how to get each, then every mount and toy with where it comes from.

Where to transmog

Any transmogrifier will do. Pick her first gossip line for the transmog window; the second line switches your looks off until you ask her again.

Transmog rules

Armor type
Same type only
Cloth on cloth, plate on plate; cloaks, shirts and tabards take any look
Item level
Limited until 60
The source item’s level must be at or below the item wearing its look
First change
Free
Once per character: save it for a full outfit
Outfits
2 free, up to 50

When a look becomes yours

Grey and white items
Yours the moment you loot them, bound or not.
Dungeon greens and blues
If it binds on pickup, the group shares it: whoever loots it, every member able to wear it unlocks the look.
Raid epics
Only the player who receives the item.
Other greens and blues
Once the item binds to you: by equipping it or selling it to a vendor.
Quest rewards
All of the reward choices, including the ones you leave behind.

Looks are shared across your account: Alliance and Horde characters alike can use any look whose armor type they wear. Swap in a new chestpiece and your chosen look stays: transmog is tied to the slot, not the item.

What it costs

A change costs a few copper at low level, more for bigger slots and higher-level looks. You pay when you save the outfit.

Cosmetic looks

Any class, at any level, can put on these looks: cosmetic items carry no stats and no armor type.

Goblin-town hats

Each Steamwheedle town sells a hat once you are Revered with it; its quests earn the reputation.

Fishing and Tailoring

Barbershops

Druids in Darnassus or Thunder Bluff no longer need to travel: both cities got a barbershop, with a barber on duty, on October 1 (ask a city guard for directions). Druids pick the look of their forms there: Night Elf and Tauren bears and cats come in five colours each, Skyborne druids get their own set, and the Classic bear and cat are still on the list. The druid forms guide lists every style by race.
