How the trainer scores you
Each press is checked against your spec’s priority at the moment you press it. The ability the priority wants is a right call; another good press counts half. Pressing something lower on the list, refreshing an effect with plenty of time left, cutting a channel short, or pressing an ability that is on cooldown, short of resource or not usable yet counts as a mistake. Presses during the global cooldown are ignored, and in its last 0.4 seconds they queue, as in the game.
The dummy loses health over the minute, so the execute phase (below 20%, or 35% for Destruction) comes up in every session. Costs, cast times, cooldowns and durations come from the spells themselves, with the level-60 talents the guides take. The practice score adds up what you land, weighted by how hard each ability hits: compare it between your own sessions, not with a damage meter.
