Overview

The Stockade is Stormwind's prison, and the Defias inside have taken it over. It's a short, dense run: narrow corridors, cell after cell of elite prisoners, and four bosses to put down. A group that pulls with care clears it in one sitting.

You come here for the quests. Six Alliance quests send you in, every objective is inside, and the hand-ins are spread across Stormwind, Lakeshire, Darkshire and Dun Modr. All four bosses drop gear, and Bruegal Ironknuckle, a rare, adds a few more blues.

Every enemy in the prison is humanoid. Bring one class that can Sap, Polymorph or trap, and the tight pulls get much easier.

Getting there

The Stockade is in Stormwind City, in the canals next to the Mage Quarter. Warden Thelwater stands at the prison and takes in The Stockade Riots when you're done.

The entrance sits in the middle of the Alliance capital, so the Stockade is an Alliance dungeon in practice, and all six of its quests are Alliance-only.

Quests

Stack all six before you go in. One full clear finishes every objective, and the hand-ins are in four different zones, so plan your trip home before you start.

Bosses

Kam Deepfury

Level 27EliteShow on map: Kam Deepfury

Motley Garmason wants his head for The Fury Runs Deep. Kam drops Kam's Walking Stick, a two-handed staff with Agility and spell damage and healing, and Bridgebreaker Bindings, cloth bracers for healers. His Shield Slam stuns the tank for 2 seconds, and at 15% health he runs for help, so finish him before he gets away. Pull him the way you'll pull every boss here: clear his neighbors, then fight him alone.

Abilities

  • Shield SlamTank

Hits the tank and stuns them for 2 seconds.

  • Runs for helpImportant

At 15% health he runs off to bring help. Finish him before he gets away.

Targorr's head is the objective for What Comes Around.... Clear the prisoners around him first, then pull him back onto ground you've already cleared so no other cell joins the fight. Thrash lands two extra heavy hits on the tank now and then, and below 30% health he attacks 30% faster. He drops four blues.

Abilities

  • ThrashTank

Now and then two extra attacks: heavy hits on the tank.

  • EnrageTankEnrage

At 30% health he attacks 30% faster for the rest of the fight.

Hamhock

Level 28EliteShow on map: Hamhock

No quest needs Hamhock, but he drops three blues. Clear the cells around him and interrupt Chain Lightning, which jumps from player to player. A priest or a shaman can remove his Bloodlust.

Abilities

  • Chain LightningCan be interrupted

Lightning that jumps from player to player (2-second cast). Interrupt it.

  • BloodlustMagic effect

Speeds up his or an ally's attacks by 30% for 30 seconds. A priest or a shaman can remove it.

Dextren Ward

Crime and Punishment sends you here for Dextren Ward's hand, which goes to Councilman Millstipe in Darkshire. He isn't one of the four bosses, but he is a single elite: empty the nearby cells first and he fights alone.

Bazil Thredd

Level 29EliteFinal bossShow on map: Bazil Thredd

Bazil Thredd leads the riot, and his head is the objective for The Stockade Riots. He's the highest-level enemy in the prison, so treat him as the run's real boss: clear everything in sight, rest to full, then pull. His Smoke Bomb stuns everyone near him for 4 seconds, and like Kam he runs for help at 15% health. He drops four blues.

Tank

Pull him onto ground you've already cleared and face him away from the group.

Healer

This is the highest-level fight in the prison. Start it at full mana.

Damage

Give the tank a few seconds of threat, then burn him. Save your cooldowns for this fight.

Abilities

  • Smoke BombImportant

Stuns everyone near him for 4 seconds.

  • Battle Shout

More attack power for him and his allies for 2 minutes.

  • Runs for helpImportant

At 15% health he runs off to bring help. Finish him before he gets away.

Trash and pulls

  • Every prisoner is an elite humanoid. Sap, Polymorph and Freezing Trap all work on them, so take one target out of every big pull.
  • The cells sit close together along narrow corridors. Pull each group back to ground you've cleared instead of fighting in front of the next cell.
  • Kill everything you pass. Quell the Uprising needs three kinds of prisoner and The Color of Blood needs bandanas, so a full clear finishes both.

Loot

Every boss drops gear here. The pick for a caster is Kam's Walking Stick from Kam Deepfury, a two-handed staff with Agility, spell damage and healing, and a shorter duration on movement-impairing effects. The other bosses' drops are in the table below, and the quests cover the rest.

Tips

  • Take all six quests before you zone in. Every objective is inside, and one clear finishes them.
  • Bring crowd control. With elite humanoids in every cell, a Sap or a Polymorph on each big pull keeps the run moving.
  • Save Bazil Thredd for last and go in at full health and mana. He's the highest-level fight in the prison.
  • Hand in The Stockade Riots on your way out: Warden Thelwater is right there at the Stockade.
