The Hall of Thanes is a dwarven hall beneath Old Ironforge, and its dead don't rest. Enraged apparitions and tormented souls fill it, the spirit of Faldrim Anvilmar waits to be put to rest, and Durgen Dirgehammer guards the end of the run.
It's a dungeon for your early teens, tied with Ragefire Chasm as the lowest-level dungeon in the game. For Alliance characters it's the first dungeon of the climb, a few levels before The Deadmines. Every quest objective is inside, and every boss has three blue items on its loot table.
The Hall of Thanes lies beneath Ironforge, the dwarven capital in Dun Morogh. Reach Ironforge by road through Dun Morogh, or ride the Deeprun Tram from Stormwind City.
Ironforge is Alliance territory, and three of the dungeon's four quests are Alliance quests.
Every objective is inside the Hall of Thanes, so stack all four quests before you zone in. Faldrim Anvilmar counts for two of them.

He spreads curses and diseases. A mage, druid, priest, paladin or shaman to clean them up makes it easy; clear the room first and the fight is short.
Burn the summoner at his side first: left alive, it adds enemies all fight long. Then turn on Magmatus.
Fire washes over the group, and melee standing next to him take the most. Healers: expect steady group damage.
He sends players flying. Kill the nearby packs before the pull and fight him by the tunnel, so no one is thrown into fresh enemies.
Late in the fight he makes the whole group run in fear. Clear the room beforehand, and bring Tremor Totem, Fear Ward or Berserker Rage if you have one.
His room’s vaults open after the kill. Inside: the tablet The Treaty of Understanding and some two dozen Dwarven Heirlooms, which Important Heirlooms asks for.
Every boss has three blue items on its loot table, and Durgen Dirgehammer drops one more common item. The standouts:
