Fury Warrior Guide for WoW Forever
Fury Warrior builds for WoW Forever. A two-hander to 30, the dual-wield Bloodthirst raid build and a two-hand 60 build, with rotation and gear.

Variants
Overview
Fury is the Warrior who never stops swinging. You live in Berserker Stance, hit with Bloodthirst every 6 seconds, spin with Whirlwind every 10, and pour every spare point of Rage into Heroic Strike. Crits trigger Flurry, Flurry speeds up your swings, and faster swings mean more Rage for the next Bloodthirst.
Forever gives Fury real tools for two weapons. Raging Blows makes Whirlwind strike with your off-hand too, Dual Wield Specialization doubles your off-hand's Rage and adds 10% hit to it, and Precision adds 3% hit to everything. Boundless Rage raises your Rage cap to 130, so a string of good swings is never wasted.
You can also play Fury with a two-hander, and that is how you level. Cruelty and Unbridled Wrath give you crit and Rage from your first ten points, and a two-handed Fury Warrior gets 2 Rage from every Unbridled Wrath proc.
Strengths
- Sustained damage on long fights: Bloodthirst, Whirlwind and Heroic Strike never run out of targets or procs.
- Death Wish gives 20% Physical damage for 30 seconds every 3 minutes, and now costs you only 5% more damage taken.
- A deep Rage engine: Unbridled Wrath, Dual Wield Specialization, Flurry and Boundless Rage all feed it.
- Whirlwind and Cleave make Fury strong on trash packs, and Raging Blows adds a second weapon to every Whirlwind.
- Precision gives you 3% hit from talents, so gear Hit goes further.
- A fast leveling start: Cruelty and Unbridled Wrath at 10–19, Death Wish at 30.
Weaknesses
- Berserker Stance makes you take 10% more damage, and Death Wish adds 5% more.
- Berserker Stance no longer lowers your threat. Battle Stance does. Watch the tank's lead on the pull.
- Dual wield needs two good weapons and raises your chance to miss. Dual Wield Specialization's +10% off-hand hit offsets it on the off-hand.
- Enrage only procs when something hits you. In raids you rarely get hit, so it is mostly the price of Flurry.
- No Mortal Strike: in PvP your damage can be healed through.
What's new in Forever
- Raging Blows (tier 4): Whirlwind also strikes with your off-hand weapon, and Cleave costs 2 less Rage.
- Boundless Rage (tier 3, 3 ranks): +10 maximum Rage per rank, up to 130 Rage.
- Precision (tier 5, 3 ranks): +1% hit per rank.
- Dual Wield Specialization now gives +25% off-hand damage, +100% off-hand Rage generation and +10% off-hand hit at 5/5.
- Enrage is reworked: a 30% chance, whenever a damaging attack hits you, to deal 2% more Physical damage per rank (10% at 5/5) for 12 seconds.
- Death Wish costs 10 Rage and increases the damage you take by 5%, instead of lowering your armor and resistances.
- Bloodthirst hits for 35% of your Attack Power plus a flat amount and gives you 10% movement speed for 10 seconds. It no longer heals; Blood Craze does that now, off every Bloodthirst hit.
- Unbridled Wrath gives a 60% chance at 5/5 to gain 1 Rage when you deal melee damage, and 2 Rage with a two-hander.
- Improved Execute cuts Execute to 10 Rage. Improved Berserker Rage gives 10 Rage and breaks snares.
- Iron Will shortens Stun and Fear effects by 15%. Booming Voice only extends the radius of your shouts.
- Rage comes per swing, based on weapon speed. A crit gives no extra Rage.
Talents
The two-hander leveling build. Cruelty and Unbridled Wrath go in first because they make every level from 10 to 19 faster. Blood Craze and Enrage turn the hits you take into healing and damage, and Death Wish at 30 ends any fight you start.
Split 0/21/0 · 21 points at level 30 · Open in calculator
Talent order
- Levels 10–14: 5/5 Cruelty. +5% crit with melee attacks from the first talent point.
- Levels 15–19: 5/5 Unbridled Wrath. With a two-hander, 60% of your hits give 2 extra Rage. This is the talent that makes Warrior leveling feel smooth.
- Level 20: 1/1 Piercing Howl. Slows everything near you by 50% for 6 seconds. Your escape button, and your answer to runners.
- Levels 21–23: 3/3 Blood Craze. Regenerate 3% of your health over 6 seconds after a crit lands on you or a single hit takes more than 20% of your health.
- Level 24: 1/3 Boundless Rage. +10 maximum Rage, and the point that unlocks tier 4.
- Levels 25–29: 5/5 Enrage. Every hit you take has a 30% chance to give you 10% more Physical damage for 12 seconds. While leveling, it's up almost all the time.
- Level 30: 1/1 Death Wish. +20% Physical damage for 30 seconds on a 3-minute cooldown. Use it on elites and on every pull of two or more.
Flexible points
- Swap Blood Craze for Iron Will on a PvP server. Stuns and fears on you last 9% less at 3/5.
The dual-wield raid build. 36 points in Fury take every talent that feeds two weapons, and 15 in Arms buy Deep Wounds, Anger Management and a cheaper Heroic Strike.
Split 15/36/0 · 51 points at level 60 · Open in calculator
Fury: 36 points
- 5/5 Cruelty and 5/5 Unbridled Wrath: +5% crit, and a 60% chance for 1 Rage on every hit from either weapon.
- 3/3 Boundless Rage: 130 maximum Rage. You pool for Execute and never cap during Death Wish.
- 2/3 Improved Cleave: Cleave costs 16 Rage with Raging Blows.
- 5/5 Dual Wield Specialization: +25% off-hand damage, twice the off-hand Rage, +10% off-hand hit.
- 1/1 Raging Blows: Whirlwind swings both weapons.
- 5/5 Enrage: the gate to Flurry, and 10% Physical damage whenever something hits you.
- 3/3 Precision: +3% hit with every attack.
- 1/1 Death Wish: 20% Physical damage for 30 seconds every 3 minutes.
- 5/5 Flurry: 25% attack speed for 3 swings after every crit. With two weapons and high crit, Flurry is up most of the fight.
- 1/1 Bloodthirst: your main attack. 30 Rage, 6-second cooldown.
Arms: 15 points
- 3/3 Improved Heroic Strike: Heroic Strike costs 12 Rage.
- 3/3 Improved Rend: the required step to Deep Wounds.
- 5/5 Improved Tactical Mastery and 1/1 Anger Management: 1 Rage every 3 seconds, and 25 Rage kept when you swap to Battle Stance for Thunder Clap.
- 3/3 Deep Wounds: every crit bleeds for 60% of your weapon's average damage over 12 seconds.
Flexible points
- Dungeons: move the two Improved Cleave points into 2/3 Blood Craze. Every Bloodthirst heals you for 2% of your health over 6 seconds.
- World PvP and questing at 60: move one Improved Cleave point into Piercing Howl. A 50% slow on everything around you is worth more than 1 Rage off Cleave.
Fury with a two-hander. You lose Raging Blows and the dual-wield talents, and gain Unbridled Wrath's 2-Rage procs, a 10-Rage Execute and Improved Berserker Rage. Play it when your best weapon is a two-hander, or when you want one build for leveling, dungeons and raids.

Races
Best races
Horde: Orc. Blood Fury gives 10% Attack Power for 15 seconds every 2 minutes. Line it up with Death Wish. Axe Specialization adds 1% crit with all attacks while you hold an axe, which means more Flurry. Hardiness shortens stuns by 20%.
Horde speed: Troll. Berserking gives 10% attack speed for 10 seconds on a 3-minute cooldown, stacking with Flurry, and it lines up with every Death Wish. Beast Slaying adds 5% damage against Beasts while you level.
Alliance: Human. Sword Specialization gives 2% crit with all attacks while you hold a sword. Every point of crit means more Flurry. Will to Survive breaks stuns every 3 minutes.
Alliance burst: Night Elf. Elune's Light adds 10% crit for 15 seconds every 3 minutes, and Flurry stays up for the whole window.
Rage: Gnome. Expansive Mind raises your maximum Rage by 5%, and Eureka! makes your next three damaging abilities cost 10% less Rage and deal 10% more damage. Save Eureka! for three Executes.

Rotation
Single pull (Battle Stance until 30)
- Charge in. You land with 9 Rage, 12 from level 26.
- Rend on anything that will live longer than 10 seconds.
- Heroic Strike whenever you have Rage above 25. With Unbridled Wrath you'll have it most of the fight.
- Execute from 24 once the mob drops to 20%.
- Victory Rush from 20, within 20 seconds after you kill a non-trivial enemy: 10% of your maximum health back.
At 30: Berserker Stance
Berserker Stance comes from the class quest The Affray at 30. It adds 3% crit and makes you take 10% more damage. Pull with Charge in Battle Stance, then swap: Tactical Mastery keeps 10 Rage. Intercept works only in Berserker Stance, and gives you a second gap closer on a 30-second cooldown.
Two or three mobs
- From 30, Death Wish (a talent) at the start. 20% more damage for 30 seconds.
- Thunder Clap (Battle Stance) slows their attacks by 20%, and Demoralizing Shout lowers their Attack Power.
- Cleave as the Rage dump.
- Enrage can proc off every hit you take, so multiple mobs make you hit harder, and Blood Craze heals you off their crits.
- A pull going wrong: from 20, Piercing Howl slows them all by 50%. Walk out and Victory Rush after the next kill.
Downtime
Keep Battle Shout up and use Bloodrage for pulls you can't Charge. Unbridled Wrath keeps your Rage topped up, so health is your only real limit: eat between pulls when you're under half.
Priority (Berserker Stance)
- Bloodthirst on cooldown.
- Whirlwind on cooldown. With Raging Blows it strikes up to 4 targets with both weapons.
- Execute when the target is under 20%. Stop Bloodthirst and Whirlwind and Execute every global.
- Heroic Strike whenever you have Rage above 50. Queue it on your main-hand swing and keep 30 Rage for the next Bloodthirst.
- Keep Battle Shout up. It lasts 3 minutes.
Cooldowns
- Death Wish at the pull and every 3 minutes. Stack it with Blood Fury, Berserking or Elune's Light.
- Recklessness for the execute phase of a progression boss: 100% extra crit for 15 seconds on a 30-minute cooldown. Every Execute crits, and Flurry never drops.
- Bloodrage at the pull for 20 Rage, when the healers can spare the health.
- Mighty Rage Potion for 45–75 Rage and 60 Strength, at the pull or the execute phase.
Rage
Your Rage comes from swings, not damage. Two weapons, Flurry and Dual Wield Specialization's doubled off-hand Rage give you more than any other Warrior. If you're capping at 130, you're not pressing Heroic Strike enough. If you're starving, drop Heroic Strike and let Bloodthirst and Whirlwind have the Rage.
Trash packs
Whirlwind on cooldown, and Cleave instead of Heroic Strike: 16 Rage with Improved Cleave and Raging Blows.
Priority (Berserker Stance)
- Bloodthirst on cooldown.
- Whirlwind on cooldown: one big two-hander hit on up to 4 targets.
- Execute under 20%. It costs 10 Rage with Improved Execute, and each extra point adds 15 damage.
- Berserker Rage on cooldown. Improved Berserker Rage gives you 10 Rage every 30 seconds.
- Heroic Strike with Rage above 50.
Cooldowns
The same as the dual-wield build: Death Wish on pull and on cooldown, racials with Death Wish, Recklessness for the execute phase of progression bosses.
Slam
Without Improved Slam, an Arms talent, Slam interrupts and delays your swing. Arms lives with that cost until 41; Fury spends its globals on Bloodthirst and Whirlwind instead, so leave Slam off your bars.
Stat priority
Leveling
- Weapon damage per second
- Strength
- Stamina
- Critical Strike
- Agility
A two-hander with high damage makes every Heroic Strike, Cleave and Whirlwind hit harder. Strength adds Attack Power to every swing. Crit feeds Flurry from 36 but doesn't give Rage, so it sits behind Stamina while you level.
Dual wield raid
- Hit
- Strength
- Critical Strike
- Agility
- Weapon Skill
Hit matters more for dual wield than for any other Warrior. Dual wielding raises your miss chance, and every miss is a lost Rage tick and a lost Flurry chance. Precision gives you 3% and Dual Wield Specialization adds 10% to your off-hand. Take Hit from gear until your Bloodthirsts stop missing. Crit is the next stat because it keeps Flurry and Deep Wounds rolling. Hit and Crit are single stats in Forever, so every point of either on any item counts.
Two-hand
- Weapon damage per second
- Hit
- Strength
- Critical Strike
- Agility
With a two-hander your weapon is the biggest upgrade in the game. After that, the same Hit, Strength and Crit as the dual-wield build.
Gear
Weapons
Level with a two-hander. Plan for the Whirlwind chain in your 30s: it opens with The Islander, has you kill Big Will (level 33) on Fray Island in The Affray, and runs to the level 40 The Summoning. In Whirlwind Weapon, Bath'rah places the Whirlwind Heart in the weapon you choose.
The Whirlwind two-handers are Warrior-only, each with +15 Strength and +14 Stamina:
- Whirlwind Axe: 102–154 damage, 3.60 speed.
- Whirlwind Sword: 82–124 damage, 2.90 speed. The Human choice.
- Whirlwind Warhammer: 97–146 damage, 3.40 speed.
Armor
Mail with Strength and Stamina, and plate from 40. Swap an item when the new one has more Strength and Stamina combined, not when it has more armor.
Weapons
Two one-handers. Put the slower, harder-hitting weapon in your main hand: Heroic Strike replaces main-hand swings and Whirlwind uses weapon damage. The off-hand wants the highest damage per second you can find. Match your weapon type to your race: swords for Humans, axes for Orcs, maces for Dwarves.
Enchants and consumables
- Enchant Weapon - Crusader on both weapons.
- Elixir of the Mongoose for 25 Agility and 2% crit.
- Juju Power, Juju Might or Winterfall Firewater for Strength and Attack Power.
- Elemental Sharpening Stone for 2% crit on each weapon.
- Mighty Rage Potion at the pull and the execute phase.
- Smoked Desert Dumplings for 20 Strength.
Weapons
Blacksmiths craft the Arcanite Reaper: 153–256 damage, 3.80 speed, 62 Attack Power, level 58. Replace it only with a two-hander that has more weapon damage.
Consumables
The same as the dual-wield build, with one Elemental Sharpening Stone instead of two.
Professions
Mining and Blacksmithing makes your sharpening stones, the Arcanite Reaper and the Sharpening Wheel camp object at skill 20: a group buff for everyone at your campfire (it doesn't stack with Strength of Earth Totem).
Engineering is the PvP and utility pick at 60. Gnomes reduce the failure rate of engineering devices by 20% with Engineering Specialization.
For gold while leveling, take Skinning and Mining. Train First Aid and Cooking either way: bandages cut your downtime, and crafted food with a Well Fed buff also gives bonus experience. Smoked Desert Dumplings adds 5% experience from kills on top of 20 Strength.
Group play and dungeons
Your job is damage, and a lot of it on packs.
- Wait for the tank. Berserker Stance no longer reduces your threat. Give the tank two Sunders before you start Whirlwind on a pack.
- Interrupt. Pummel works in Berserker Stance: interrupt and lock the school for 4 seconds, every 10 seconds.
- Whirlwind is your AoE. Up to 4 targets, both weapons with Raging Blows. Cleave between Whirlwinds.
- Shouts. Battle Shout for melee groups, and Demoralizing Shout when the tank doesn't use it.
- Break fears. Berserker Rage makes you immune to Fear and Incapacitate for 10 seconds. Use it before a boss fear.
- Save a wipe. Intimidating Shout scatters up to 5 enemies for 8 seconds.
- Mind the crowd control. Damage breaks Polymorph, Sap, Fear and most other crowd control. Don't Whirlwind or Cleave next to a crowd-controlled mob.
In raids, Barrow Deeps (10 players) and Hyjal Summit (20) open on December 9. Their encounters are not known yet, so treat the raid build as a starting point.
Tips
A Fury Warrior at 130 Rage is wasting every swing. Press Heroic Strike or Cleave as soon as Rage climbs past 50, and hold it back only when Bloodthirst or Whirlwind is about to come off cooldown.
Death Wish only adds 5% damage taken in Forever, and it doesn't touch your armor. Press it on cooldown in every dungeon and raid pull, not only on bosses.
Crits give no Rage. Your Rage comes from swings. Flurry gives you more swings, so crit still feeds Rage through Flurry, just not directly.
Bloodthirst moves you. Every Bloodthirst gives you 10% movement speed for 10 seconds. Use it to chase a kiting mob or to reposition in a raid.
Keep Battle Shout up. It lasts 3 minutes now. A shout at the start of every pull covers everyone within 20 yards.
Level Fury, raid Fury. The leveling build turns into the two-hand build with a respec, and the two-hand build into the dual-wield build once you have two good weapons. See the Warrior leveling guide for the full 10–60 order.
