Launch & server status

• Name reservation

  Owners of the Heroic Pack, the Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection can make characters from Oct 27–Nov 3: up to 3 in all, across every ruleset. The limit ends at launch.

• Two-part names

  Every character has a first and a second name, and the pair must be unique in your region. Names go first come, first served. You can hide your second name on your nameplate, but it still shows in chat.

• Beta characters are gone

  Nothing from the beta or the stress test carries over, names included: everyone starts fresh.

• Invite-A-Friend codes

  A launch code lets a friend play without a subscription from Nov 4–11. The Heroic Pack comes with one code, the Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection with three.

Forever comes with any World of Warcraft subscription or game time. The Skyborne race and Zephras Isle need the Heroic Pack or higher.

• Normal

  No open-world PvP unless you flag yourself. Both factions on one account.

• PvP

  Open-world PvP everywhere outside the safe zones. Your first character here picks your side: one faction per account on this ruleset.

• Roleplay

  Normal rules plus strict roleplay naming and conduct rules.

• Roleplay-PvP

  Open-world PvP with the roleplay naming and conduct rules.

• There are no realms: you pick a ruleset before you make a character, and it is fixed. To change, roll a new character.
• Groups, dungeons, raids and guilds stay within one ruleset and one faction. Battlegrounds mix every ruleset except Hardcore.
• Collections and Legacy points are shared across every ruleset on your account.
• A Hardcore ruleset comes later; its progress flows out to the others, not in.
